DALLAS, Pa. - The Arcadia women's soccer team suffered a 3-1 setback at #11Misericordia Saturday afternoon.
Tara Smith scored the Knights' lone goal in the 53rd minute.
Despite the scoreboard, the Scarlet and Grey kept pressure on the nationally ranked Cougars.
Jackie Glanfield put the Knights' first two shots on goal within 23 seconds of each other in the 26th minute. Smith and
Kayla Haberbosch combined for another pair of shots on target between the 30th and 31st minutes before
Mia Bertolami hit the crossbar in the 34th minute.
Trailing 2-0 early in the second half Arcadia put their strongest pressure on offensively.
Jess Kelly rifled a shot on goal late in the 51st minute that was followed up by a pair of corner kicks. Kelly took the latter which Smith was able to finish.
The Scarlet and Grey outshot the Courgars 13-7, with a 7-3 advantage in shots on goal.
Arcadia returns to the pitch next Saturday to open conference play against Stevenson on Easton Field at 4 p.m.
