COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's volleyball team split a pair of matches at Ursinus College Saturday, defeating the host Bears 3-2 (16-25, 26-24, 19-25, 25-20, 15-9) after falling to Franklin & Marshall College 3-0 (10-25, 20-25, 20-25)
Freshman
Elizabeth Joseph hit .367 with a team-high 15 kills to lead the Knights (4-8) to the win over Ursinus, snapping a seven-match slide, while classmate
Sam Dulak hit .308 with 12 kills. Junior
Alexia Bell registered a match-high 33 assists and a team-leading 19 digs.
Karla Thiele dropped a match-high 21 kills with 15 digs for Ursinus, while Allison Raff totaled 12 kills and a match-high 22 digs. Emily van Mulbregt handed out 28 assists with 11 digs.
In the opener against F&M, Ellie Ezekiel hit .300 with a match-high 13 kills to lead the Diplomats to the victory. Cassie Garison added seven kills for the Diplomats, who hit .356 (39 kills-8 errors-87 attempts) in the match.
Dulak and Joseph notched five kills each for Arcadia against Franklin & Marshall, as the Knights hit just .022 (24 kills-22 errors-91 attempts) as a team.
The Knights will next host a 7 p.m. MAC Commonwealth match Tuesday against Albright College at Alumni Gymnasium.
