LANCASTER, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision at host Franklin & Marshall College on the opening day of competition at the 2015 Scrapyard Classic Friday. The Diplomats improved to 2-0-0 with the win, while the Knights fell to 0-1-1 with the loss.
Jason Tonelli scored a pair of goals in the later stages of the first and second halves, opening the scoring with 3:48 left in the first half and later capping the scoring with 2:14 left in the second. Chase TenBrook and Ugo Okolie accounted for the other two F&M tallies, both of which came in the second half.
Trevor Britton earned the win in net after totaling three saves in 76:25 for the Diplomats to improve his record to 2-0-0. Sophomore
Chris Watson recorded five stops in taking the loss for the Knights, dropping his record to 0-1-1.
F&M out shot Arcadia 19-4 in the match and had a 4-1 advantage in corner kicks.
The Knights will look to bounce back Saturday when they take on Eastern University at 3 p.m. on the second day of competition at F&M's Scrapyard Classic.
