– The Arcadia University women's basketball team dropped a conference battle against the Stevenson University Mustangs, 67-50 on Saturday afternoon in Alumni Gymnasium. Scoring the Knights' first basket, senior
Addy Crenny moved into 10th place in Arcadia scoring history, with 664 career points. Freshmen
Susan Bossler and
Camille Menns scored a team-high nine points each for the Knights. The Mustangs were led by Sara Tarbert with 15 points. Arcadia moves to 7-11, 2-7 MAC Commonwealth, while Stevenson moves to 10-6, 7-3 MAC Commonwealth.
After scoring just 16 points in the first half, the Knights rebounded by scoring 34 second half points with 28 coming off the bench; Arcadia scored a total of 32 bench points while Stevenson only scored 20. Overall in the second half, Arcadia shot 42.3% from the field, a vast improvement from the 20.7% they shot in the first two quarters. Menns and
Morgan Wensley both led the scoring for the Knights in the final period, each netting six points.
The Knights outscored their opponent 16-2 in second chance points. They also edged out the Mustangs in free throws, with the home team shooting 88.2% from the line while their opponents netted 84.6%.
The Knights will next travel to Hood for a makeup game on Monday night.
