FREDERICK, Md. – The Arcadia University women's basketball team returned to the win column as the Knights used a 20-7 second quarter to fuel a 76-64 win over Hood Monday night. Senior
Addy Crenny led the way for the Scarlet and Grey with her 10th double-double of the season on 19 points and 13 rebounds. The win snaps a six game skid and moves the Knights to 8-11 on the season and 3-7 in conference play, while Hood falls to 4-16 and 0-11 in conference play.

Valerie DiMuro opened the game's scoring on the Knights' first possession. Following a three from rookie
Olivia Roseman, DiMuro capped a game-opening 7-1 run with a layup just over a minute and a half in. Hood climbed back to a 9-8 deficit at the 6:49 mark of the opening frame before Crenny sparked a six-point spurt for the Knights the ended in a 15-8 lead for Arcadia midway through the first quarter. Hood finished the quarter on an 8-2 run bringing the score to 17-16 in favor of the Scarlet and Grey after one.

Sammy Downham combined for four free throws over the first two minutes of the frame. The Blazers battled to a tie at 21-21 just before the six minute mark before a Crenny jumper opened a 6-0 spurt for Arcadia that culminated in a senior
Morgan Wensley fast break layup. Ending the half on a 10-2 run, the Knights took a 37-23 lead to the half.
Junior
Imani Alston led all scorers with 10 first half points on 4 of 7 shooting. Led by 3 of 3, and 3 of 4 shooting performances from DiMuro and Wensley, respectively, the Scarlet and Grey shot 43.8% from the field over the opening 20 minutes. Allie Appleby led the Blazers with five points in the first half, as the Blazer shot 24.1%.
DiMuro helped the Knights pick up where they left off as she laid in the first two points of the second half less than 15 seconds into the half. Roseman completed a three-point play with 7:27 to go in the quarter to lift the Knights to a 44-29 lead. Leading 51-34 nearing the two minute mark, freshman
Morgan Phillips tallied four points in 19 seconds for a 21 point lead. Roseman capped the quarter with a jumper for a 59-37 lead heading into the final stanza.
In a high-scoring fourth quarter, the hosts outscored Arcadia 27-17, but it wouldn't be enough as the Knights claimed the win.
The Knights shot 54.8% in the second half led by Crenny with 13 points and Roseman with 10. Following its hot shooting second half, Arcadia shot 49.2% on the night. The Knights controlled the paint as they outscored 36-14 in that area while outrebounding the hosts 49-42.
The Knights return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Albright for a MAC Commonwealth contest.
