Women’s Volleyball Tops CCNY and Keystone to Close Out Knight Invitational

GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's volleyball team closed out the inaugural Knight Invitational with victories over The City College of New York and Keystone College Saturday at Alumni Gymnasium. The Knights are now 13-11 this season, and have won eight of their last nine matches.
 
ALL TOURNAMENT TEAM: Emily Eng (Arcadia), Lizzie Joseph (Arcadia), Shannon Ryan (Arcadia), Colleen Stengel (Arcadia), Maddy Greth (Albright), Becca Davis (Albright), Sarina Rozek (Brooklyn), Tenya Hawkins (CCNY), Hannah Zuchowski (Keystone), Coleby Charlier (Misericordia), Cortnee Wilkerson (Rutgers-Camden), Tabitha Davis (Rutgers-Newark).
 
Arcadia 3, CCNY 0 (25-11, 25-16, 25-17)
 
ARCADIA LEADERS: Senior MaKenna Micklus and sophomore Becca Campf both hit and impressive 64 percent to lead the Knights; Micklus had nine kills with no errors on 14 attempts, while Campf registered 10 kills with one error on her 14 swings. Junior Colleen Stengel had 20 assists with seven digs, while freshman Kaylee Bumpus totaled 15 assists and three kills.
 
CCNY LEADERS: Angela Ubanwa had five kills and five digs for the Beavers, while Camila Franco-Diaz and Tenya Hawkins added four kills each. Veralucia Quispe registered a match-high 12 digs.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS: Arcadia outscored CCNY 56-18 while hitting 28-percent as a team; the Knights had a 38-15 advantage in kills and a 15-2 advantage on service aces. The Beavers hit just seven-percent in the match.
 
ARCADIA 3, Keystone 2 (25-23, 25-23, 20-25, 23-25, 15-12)
 
ARCADIA LEADERS: Campf led the Knights with 17 kills while hitting 30-percent, while sophomore Lizzie Joseph hit 27-percent with 14 kills and six digs. Freshman Shannon Ryan posted a double-double with 12 kills and 15 digs, while Stengel handed out a match-high 43 assists with three kills and 10 digs. Freshman Emily Eng tallied a match-high 30 digs.
 
KEYSTONE LEADERS: Hannah Zuchowski posted a match-high 24 kills with 20 digs to lead the Giants, while Taylor Beatty finished in double figures with 11 kills. Malley Bowen just missed a double-double with nine kills and 12 digs.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS: Arcadia outscored Keystone 73-69 thanks to owning the margin in service aces (10-6) and blocks (6-3). The Giants had a 60-57 advantage in kills.
