Women’s Soccer Set for NCAA Opening Weekend

GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's soccer team will be in Williamstown, Massachusetts for the first two rounds of the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament this weekend, its first tournament appearance since 2005. The Knights will open up against Wentworth Institute of Technology Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
 
WEEKEND SCHEDULE:
Saturday, Nov. 12:
Williams College vs. Elms College – 11 a.m.
Arcadia vs. Wentworth Institute of Technology – 1:30 p.m.
 
Sunday, Nov. 13:
Williams/Elms Winner vs. Arcadia/Wentworth Winner – 1 p.m.

ABOUT ARCADIA: This season's team has put together one of the most successful campaigns in program history at 17-3 through conference playoffs. The Knights opened the season on a 13-game winning streak before they finished the regular season at 16-2. The Knights are currently ranked No. 21 by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and came in at No. 23 in the final D3soccer.com poll. Arcadia was ranked as high as No. 6 by the (NSCAA) and No. 16 by D3soccer.com this season.
 
ARCADIA LEADERS: Junior Kayla Haberbosch has had one of the best individual seasons in team-history with single-season records in goals (19) and points (44). She is one of seven players to record double-digit points thus far, including three that have more than 20 points. Senior Lennon Kramer has posted 24 points so far this season on 11 goals and two assists, while junior Jess Kelly has 22 points on seven goals and a team-leading eight assists. Freshman Taelor Rivera posted a 13-0 record with a 0.65 goals against average and an .822 save percentage with five clean sheets, while sophomore Evelyn Feigeles owns a 4-3 record with a 1.06 goals against average and .771 save percentage.
 
ARCADIA IN THE NCAA TOURNAMENT: This marks the fourth NCAA tournament selection for Arcadia. After winning the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference in 2005, the Knights took on Haverford in the First Round and battled to a 1-1 draw before the Fords advanced on penalty kicks. Capturing the 1999 PAC Championship gave Arcadia its first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance, however the Knights would be eliminated in the first round with a 1-0 double-overtime loss to Rowan.
 
ABOUT WENTWORTH: The Leopards earned their first NCAA Tournament nod by winning the Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship 4-0 over Gordon. Wentworth holds a 15-3-3 record on the season. Powered by a team-best 14 assists, Emily Richard tops a group of seven double-figure point getters including three over 20. Sidney Brogan and Amanda Weinberger have each netted a team-best nine goals and handed out three assists for 21 points to round out the team's top three scorers. Micaela Robinson has started 15 games in goal with a 10-2-3 mark, 0.34 goals against average and .912 save percentage. Christie Fleming is 5-1 in seven appearances with a 0.87 goals against average and .833 save percentage.
 
ABOUT WILLIAMS: The Ephs claimed an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament after being knocked out of the New England Small College Athletic Conference by Trinity in penalty kicks. Williams is currently ranked No. 2 by the NSCAA with a 15-0-2 record. Alison Lu leads the team in goals (11) and points (27) while handing out five assists. Kristi Kirshe has recorded a team-best 10 assists, while netting five goals for 24 points. Sarah Scire and Audrey Thomas round out the Ephs' double-digit point getters at 19 and 15, respectively. Olivia Barnhill has started every game in goal for a 15-0-2 record with a 0.42 goals against average and .891 save percentage.  
 
ABOUT ELMS: Elms punched its ticket to the tournament by winning the New England Collegiate Conference over Lesley. The Blazers have won five straight contests and currently own an 18-3-1 record. Fueled by a team-best 19 goals, Brie Voight sits atop the team's points list with 47. Jackie Soucia's team-leading 13 helpers along with eight goals have her second on the team in points with 29. With seven goals and eight assists, Mackenzie Larochelle rounds out the 20-plus point scorers with 22 points. Rebecca Molin has played every minute in goal for an 18-2-1 record with a 0.54 goals against average and .789 save percentage.
