Softball Continues Friends of Jaclyn Relationship

GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University softball team continues its relationship with nine-year-old Jordyn Viaslli, whom the team "adopted" through the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation last October. The Knights helped Jordyn get in the fall spirit with a pumpkin painting party on October 13, before accompanying her during Trick-or-Treat on Halloween.

The purpose of the Friends of Jacklyn Foundation is to pair children battling pediatric brain tumors with college and high school sports teams across the country. The aim is to create lasting relationships between the student-athletes, the children and their families, which will offer support and friendship through their fight with the disease.

Jordyn suffers from Neurofibromatosis; through this partnership the team looks to bring her laughter and joy to take her mind off of any day-to-day struggles, and in turn she will help the members of the team grow and inspire them with the resilience and positivity she exudes each day. The team has already did numerous events with Jordyn throughout last year, including holiday pizza parties, making cards, and tie dye parties; Jordyn also threw out the ceremonial first pitch in Arcadia's home opener last season.
