LAJAS, Puerto Rico - Four different player went deep for the Arcadia University baseball team as it defeated SUNY Canton 13-8 at Estadio Jose Basora Friday. The Knights improved 7-3 overall and, and 3-0 against the Roos, who fell to 3-4.

HOW IT HAPPENED: The Knights got out to an early 4-1 lead, thanks in part to solo home runs from senior George Pagan and sophomore Nick Cardace, and were up 6-1 through four after senior Nick Todero center a triple to the wall in right center that plated classmate Steven Zellers and then scored on senior Connor Arsenault's single down the left field line. Jeremy Baez brought the Roos back within two in the fifth with an RBI triple and then crossing the plate himself on an error, and SUNY Canton tied the game in the top of the sixth as Wilson Matos repeated Baez's feat from the inning before. Arcadia regained the lead for good in the bottom of the sixth when sophomore Drew Coisson scored on a wild pitch, and the Knights added three runs in the seventh on a solo homer from freshman Bryan Gillen and a two-run blast off the bat of junior Justin Chasmar. Pagan drove in three more runs with his bases-clearing double to right in the eighth inning that put the contest out of reach.

ON THE HILL: Sophomore Mark DiBattiste his first win at Arcadia after allowing two runs on three hits in two innings of relief. Junior Christopher Keesser fanned two of the four batters he faced in a scoreless eighth inning. Luis Caballero (0-1) suffered his first loss of the year for the Roos after giving up 10 runs on 15 hits over six-plus innings.
