RADNOR, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's tennis team got back in the win column with a convincing 9-0 non-conference victory at Cabrini College Tuesday, improving its record to 4-7 this season. It was the first competitive match in 10 days for the Knights.
Arcadia saw a pair of 8-0 wins at second and third doubles to take an early 2-0 lead, and completed the sweep of the doubles matches when the No. 1 pairing of freshman
Ishan Kulkarni and
John Zinzer rallied for a 4-0 deficit to take an 8-4 win over the tandem of Alijah Broadnax and Sean Jaeger. Senior
Vincent Voulo and junior
Wesley Wei were the winners at No. 2 doubles, while senior
Alex Colton and junior
Chuck Poklikuha were victorious at No. 3.
Kulkarni recorded his second win of the day over Broadnax with a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles, while Colton notched a 6-5, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles over Jaeger. Arcadia didn't yield a single point in the No. 3-6 singles matches.
Arcadia will return to action Saturday when it hosts a MAC Commonwealth match against Alvernia University. The Knights will open conference play at 1 p.m. at Weiss Courts.
