GALLOWAY, N.J. – The Arcadia University softball team traveled to Stockton for non-conference play Thursday, falling 5-3 in game one and 6-4 in game two to the host Ospreys. The Knights fall to 14-14 on the season, while Stockton moves to 19-7.
Game 1: Stockton 5, Arcadia 3
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Ospreys plated the first two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning first on an RBI ground out to the shortstop by Danielle Lugo, then an RBI-double from Samantha Shockey. The Scarlet and Grey retaliated in the top of the sixth when freshman
Jackie Bilotti tripled to right center to score seniors

Nicole Iasiello plated Bilotti with a sac fly in the next at bat. Stockton used the bottom of the frame to claim the 5-3 lead, highlighted by a two-RBI triple from Nicole Tomo.
ARCADIA AT THE PLATE: Bilotti led the way with a 2-3, two-RBI outing. Gunia and freshmen
Kayla Resh and Kristen Cancelliere each recorded a hit, while Iasiello drove in one.
STOCKTON AT THE PLATE: Shockey put together a 3-4 game with one RBI to lead the Ospreys. Tomo (1-3) led the team driving in a pair of runs.
IN THE CIRCLE: Resh (2-5) suffered the loss for Arcadia in relief, allowing five runs on six hits with two strikeouts, after senior
Erin Wilson went four shutout innings allowing four hits and striking out two. Shockey picked up the win for Stockton allowing three runs on five hits with a walk and six strikeouts.
Game 2: Stockton 6, Arcadia 4
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Knights built a 4-0 lead after two and a half inning as Iasiello recorded RBI singles in both the first and third innings, while Cancelliere and sophomore
Kaylee Zarick scored on a fielding error on the second baseman in the top of the second. The hosts responded in the bottom of the third with five runs, highlighted by a pair of two-RBI singles, the fifth run of the inning came when Alexa Massa scored on a ground out to the shortstop. Massa reached on a fielding error by the second baseman in the fourth inning allowing the Ospreys to score their final run.
ARCADIA AT THE PLATE: Iasiello was 3-3 as she drove in two runs. Cancelliere and Zarick each went 2-3 with a run scored.
STOCKTON AT THE PLATE: Holly Arentowicz led the way with a 3-4 game with two-RBI and a run scored. Dominique Dorris and Casey Schieda each recorded two-hit games.
IN THE CIRCLE: Gunia (6-3) allowed six runs (one earned) on eight hits with a walk and a strikeout in four innings of work, Bilotti threw two innings of one-hit ball with a walk and a strikeout. Victoria Torp picked up the win throwing four shutout innings allowing three hits with a walk; Hannah Bibeault started the game allowing four runs (two earned) on five hits in three innings pitched.
UP NEXT: Arcadia returns home on Saturday to host Stevenson at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. The games will be for breast cancer awareness as the Knights team with the NFCA's StrikeOut Cancer Campaign.
