Box Score 2 READING, Pa. – The Arcadia University softball team wrapped up its regular season Saturday afternoon with a split at Alvernia. The hosts took game one 4-3, before the Knights took the night cap 2-1. With the win in game two, the Scarlet and Grey clinch the fifth seed in the MAC Commonwealth Championship. The Knights finish the regular season 23-17 overall and 7-9 in conference play, Alvernia's season comes to an end with a 13-23 record with a 5-11 conference mark.
Game 1: Alvernia 4, Arcadia 3
HOW IT HAPPENED: Alvernia did all of its damage in the bottom of the second. Brianna DePriest sent an RBI single to center to plate the first run before Emily Carmella singled through the right side to drive in two; a Mckenzie Miessau triple to right center plated the final run.
The Scarlet and Grey got one back in the fourth on a SAC fly by senior
Nicki Larro. Trailing 4-1 in the seventh, senior

Kayla Resh to pull the score to 4-2, senior
Sara Boyadjis was out at home on the play. The next batter, freshman
Jackie Bilotti, doubled to right center to plate Gunia to finish the scoring.
KNIGHTS AT THE PLATE: The 11-hit outing was led by Resh's 3-3 performance batting ninth. Gunia and Bilotti each recorded two-hit games with an RBI.
CRUSADERS AT THE PLATE: The hosts recorded nine hits in the opener led by two-hit games from DePriest and Taylor Thomas.
IN THE CIRCLE: Senior
Erin Wilson suffered the loss, allowing four runs on nine hits with a walk. Brittanie Wolfe picked up the win allowing three runs on 11 hits with a strikeout.
Game 2: Arcadia 2, Alvernia 1
HOW IT HAPPENED: Alvernia got on the board first in the bottom of the first inning when Ally Shilling reached on an error allowing Carmella to score. The Knights got the run right back as Bilotti singled to center, driving in Wilson. With one out and a runner on second in the top of the sixth, sophomore
Tori Zaccaria sent a 3-2 pitch down the left field line for a double to drive In what proved to be the game winning run.
KNIGHTS AT THE PLATE: Led by a 3-4 outing from sophomore
Amanda Hess, the Knights notched 10 hits in the game. Bilotti went 2-4 with an RBI from the leadoff spot.
CRUSADERS AT THE PLATE: DePriest and Miessau each recorded two hits to lead Alvernia.
IN THE CIRCLE: Gunia picked up her 10th win of the season, allowing one unearned run on seven hits with a walk and three strikeouts. Wolfe took the loss allowing two runs on 10 hits with a walk and four strikeouts.
UP NEXT: Arcadia turns its attention to the MAC Commonwealth Championship where it will take on fourth-seeded Stevenson on Friday at 10 a.m. in the first game of the double elimination tournament.
