GLENSIDE, Pa.- The Arcadia University men's lacrosse team dropped a 19-4 MAC Commonwealth decision to the Albright College Lions on Wednesday night at Easton Field. The Lions move to 3-6 overall and 2-0 in conference play, while the Knights fall to 3-7 overall and 0-2 in conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Lions took a 3-2 lead at the end of the first period, with senior
Chris Jacovino and junior
Kenny Grant scoring for the Knights. However, Albright would outscore Arcadia 8-0 in the second period, led by five goals from Cam Cetrone to take strong lead and never looked back. In the third period, Albright scored three in a row before junior
Joe Stanton added one for the Knights; the Lions would score five more times and Arcadia found the back of the net once.
ARCADIA LEADERS: Jacovino, Grant, Stanton, and freshman
Ryan Brennan all scored for the Knights. Stanton also had two helpers, while
Matt Mignogna added one.
ALBRIGHT LEADERS: The Lions had five different goal scorers, led by Cetrone with nine goals and three assists for 12 points. Tyler Strayline had seven goals, while Derek Stump, Jordan Zehr, and Marcus Laychak each had one. Stump also had a team-high four assists, while Ethan Howell added another two.
IN GOAL: Ryan Aler moved to 3-6 in the goal, allowing only three goals and making four saves in 36:41 minutes of work, while Conor Scafidi allowed one goal and made three saves in 23:19 minutes. For the Knights,
A.J. Beck fell to 1-3 after allowing 11 goals in 30 minutes of work.
