OWINGS MILL, Md. – The third-seeded Arcadia University men's tennis team advanced to its first ever MAC Commonwealth Championship Match with a 5-2 win over second-seeded Stevenson Wednesday evening.
The Scarlet and Grey found themselves down 2-1 after doubles play with senior
Alex Colton and junior Chuck Poklukuha picking up an 8-5 win in the third flight. Following a stoppage of play due to weather during singles action, the match resumed indoors.
All four finished singles matches went to Arcadia. Colton took second singles in three sets 2-6, 6-3, 6-2, while junior
Wesley Wei took a 6-2, 6-4 decision at fourth singles. Poklikuha won fifth singles 6-1, 6-0 and senior
Darren Stochmal won 6-3, 6-2 at sixth singles. Freshman
Ishan Kulkarni was leading 5-2 in the first set at first singles.
The Knights head to top-seeded Messiah for the MAC Commonwealth title match on Saturday. Match time is to be determined.
