WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's tennis team opened the 2016-17 campaign with a 9-0 victory at Penn College Saturday, marking the first career win for first year head coach Pam Rendé as a collegiate men's tennis coach.
ROOKIES HELP LEAD THE WAY: The Knights got out to a quick start by sweeping the three doubles sets, with freshmen

Nick Simeone posting a shutout at No. 1 doubles over the team of Blake Whitmire and Ethan Rosler. Hanak was the only Knight to go to a third set in singles play, where he dropped a 6-0 decision to Matthew Elliot in the first game at No. 3 before taking the next two by identical 6-2 scores and clinch the win for the Knights. Jake McBride was a 6-1, 6-4 winner at No. 1 over Whitmire after teaming with sophomore
John Zinzer for an 8-2 win at No. 3 doubles.
COMPLETING THE SWEEP: Senior

Jaime Zeng Zhu were 8-2 winners at No. 2 doubles to start the day, and both went on win their singles matches 6-2, 6-2 and 6-1, 6-1 at third and fourth flight, respectively. Simeone and Zinzer earned 8-0 victories at No. 5 and No. 6 singles.
NEXT UP: The Knights will host Moravian College next Saturday, September 17, at Weiss Courts at 1 p.m.
