Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Pair of First Half Goals Leads Men’s Soccer to 2-1 Win Over Misericordia

GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's soccer team moved to 3-1 on the season Saturday night as it downed Misericordia 2-1 on Easton Field. Both Knights' goals came in the first half, first from junior Bradley McKim then classmate Tyler Ihle.

HOW IT HAPPENED: It took less than a minute for the Knights to get on the board as McKim took a service from sophomore Manny Camacho and headed it past the keeper just 54 seconds after the opening whistle. In the 24th minute, Ihle put Arcadia up by two when he headed in his first career goal off a corner kick from junior Georges Fiori. The score would stand until the 67th minute, when Matt Norcini headed a free kick into the net to get the Cougars on the board. The visitors put the pressure on down the stretch in an attempt to tie the game, however the Knight defense would have no parts of it as it preserved the one goal advantage to the finish.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: Though Misericordia outshot Arcadia 16-9, the Knights put seven shots on target compared to five for the visitors. 11 of the Cougars 16 shots came in the game's final 24 minutes. In the corner kick department, the Cougars took 15 while the Knights took 10.

IN GOAL: Junior Chris Watson picked up the win to move to 3-1 making four saves. Matt Smith (1-1) took the loss after making five saves.

UP NEXT: The Knights will play their next four games on the road, beginning with a trip to Ramapo on Wednesday.
