GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's tennis team moved to 2-0 in the fall season following a 6-3 win over Moravian on Weiss Courts Saturday afternoon.
EARLY ADVANTAGE: The Knights took the early lead by taking two out of three doubles matches. The rookie duo of
Drake Hanak and
Nick Simeone took an 8-6 decision from Giovanni Lombardi and David Wilson in the first flight. In the third flight freshman
Jake McBride teamed with sophomore
John Zinzer for an 8-1 win over Austin Grace and Christopher Csencsits.
SINGLES PLAY: Alberto Carmenate Burgos was the first to win in singles play, taking a 6-3, 6-3 decision from Csencsits in at sixth singles. The score stood at 3-2 after Lombardi defeated McBride 6-3, 6-1 in the first flight. Zinzer took down Grace 7-5, 6-2 at No. 4, before senior
Wesley Wei clinched the match with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Wilson in the second flight. Simeone also picked up a win, 6-4, 6-0 over Issac Schefter at third single.
UP NEXT: The Knights head to Radnor next Monday, September 26 to take on Cabrini.
