GLENSIDE, Pa. – In conjunction with the Alicia Rose Victorious Foundation (ARVF), Knights from all 19 varsity teams took part in "Conditioning for Childhood Cancer Bandana Day" Tuesday. At the forefront of this event was head women's basketball coach
Rose Katz, who personally knew Alicia as friends growing up together and in high school.
ARVF is named in honor of Alicia Rose DiNatale, who passed away at the age of 17 from a rare form of cancer called Adenocarcinoma. The foundation helps teens with cancer live a normal teenage life while in the hospital by funding teen lounges and providing teen kits. ARVF has raised over $2.5 million and have helped over 70,000 children.
244 student-athletes took part in a voluntary early morning conditioning session sporting bandanas representing unity in the fight against childhood cancer. As a department, $915 was raised for ARVF through the sale of the bandanas.
