GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's soccer team suffered a 2-0 setback at the hands of Eastern Saturday afternoon on Easton Field. The Eagles scored both goals late in the first half. The Knights are now 1-1 on the young season, while Eastern moves to 2-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED: In a game that was physical from the opening whistle, it took nearly 23 minutes to see the game's first shot. Both Eastern goals came in quick succession as Jacob Myers scored in the 37th minute before Sean Dougherty added one in the 40th minute by heading in a throw in.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS: While total shots were even at eight apiece, the visitors held a 5-2 advantage in shots on target. The Knights put the pressure on in the second half firing five shot attempts and taking two corner kicks.
IN GOAL: Junior
Chris Watson (1-1) took the loss while making three saves. Quentin Keibler (2-0) made two saves to pick up the win for Eastern.
UP NEXT: The Knights head to Neumann on Wednesday night, before returning home to host Misericordia next Saturday, Sept. 10.
