HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's volleyball team won in straight sets over Delaware Valley University before falling to Marymount University in the second day of competition at the Haverford Invitational Sunday. The Knights are now 2-3 this season.

Arcadia 3, Delaware Valley 0 (25-12, 25-12, 25-18)
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Knights used a series of big runs take early control of the first and second games by identical scores of 25-12; Arcadia went up 15-3 to take control of the first game and staked themselves to a 15-6 lead in the second. Ryan ended the first game with a kill before sophomore
Becca Campf scored an ace to end the second. The Aggies got out to a 5-1 lead in the third game before an 11-1 run with Ryan and freshman
Kaylee Bumpus serving put the Knights ahead 16-12. Three straight Del Val errors ended the third game, and the match.
ARCADIA LEADERS: Joseph totaled a match-high 13 kills while hitting 53-percent for the Knights, while Ryan scored 12 kills and five aces while hitting at 38-percent. Junior
Colleen Stengel had 20 assists and three digs, while Bumpus had nine assists in the third game. Freshman
Emily Eng had a match-high 14 digs.
Delaware Valley Leaders: Kate Woolsey had seven kills and five digs to lead the Aggies, while Kayla Braken added five kills and four digs. Nicole Daigneault led Del Val with 11 assists and eight digs.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS: Arcadia hit .278 in the match while out-scoring Delaware Valley 55-21, which included 36 kills and 17 aces for the Knights. The Aggies hit .013 with 16 kills and five aces.
Marymount 3, Arcadia 0 (22-25, 17-25, 19-25)
HOW IT HAPPENED: The first game was a close one throughout and saw the Knights hold a 22-19 lead before Marymount score six straight points to take the first game 25-22. The Saints never trailed in the final two games, using a pair of late runs to put the match away.
ARCADIA LEADERS: Joseph once again led the Knights, totaling 11 kills while hitting 45-percent on her 20 attempts. Ryan totaled four kills and six digs, while Stengel handed out 15 assists and notched five digs. Eng again led the Scarlet and Grey with 11 digs.
MARYMOUNT LEADERS: Margaret McAlpin registered a match-high 13 kills while hitting 48-percent to lead the Saints, while Cailyn Thomas put down nine kills and hit 38-percent. Caroline Hanson had a match-high 16 assists to go with 11 digs and five kills, while Christine Tieman tallied 12 assists and five digs.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS: Marymount hit .220 for the match and outscored Arcadia 46-28 with 36 kills and eight aces. Arcadia hit .076 for the match with 22 kills and four aces.
