READING, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's basketball team traveled to Albright Wednesday evening, falling 83-51 in a MAC Commonwealth contest. The Knights dropped to 6-12 on the season and 2-7 in conference play, while the Lions improved to 14-4 and 9-0 in conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The hosts took control early, scoring the first five points of the contest. A three from sophomore
Olivia Roseman had Arcadia within four at 13-9 midway through the first quarter. Albright responded by closing out the frame on a 13-4 run to lead 26-13 after 10 minutes of play, and never looked back.
CLIMBING THE LEADERBOARD: With a pair of steals on the night, senior
Maureen Fiocca moved into tie for fifth on the all-time list with 130 career steals.
ARCADIA LEADERS: Senior
Maureen Fiocca led Arcadia with 17 points, followed by freshman
Sydney Cyr with 13 points on 5-8 shooting. Sophomore
Camille Menns pulled in a team-leading five rebounds, while senior
Imani Alston led the way with three assists.
ALBRIGHT LEADERS: Shannon Thomas led all scorers with 27 points on 9-14 shooting, including 8-11 from beyond the arc. She was joined in double figures by Nina Mazzarelli (17), Devan Horka (14) and Alysha Lofton (11). Lofton completed the double-double with a game-high 11 rebounds.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS: The Knights went 18-56 from the floor, including 1-6 from distance, while converting 14-19 at the free throw line. The Lions shot 32-67 from the field, including 10-17 from three, while going 9-14 at the charity stripe.
