Kelly’s Hat Trick Leads Women’s Soccer in 5-0 Rout of Stevenson

GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's soccer team bested MAC Commonwealth rival Stevenson 5-0 Saturday afternoon. The Knights found the back of the net three times in the opening 45 minutes of play, before tacking on two more in the second half.
 
FOR THE RECORD:
  • Arcadia holds a 10-5 record on the year, including a 4-1 mark against conference opponents
  • The Mustangs sit at 10-4 with a 3-1 mark in conference play
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Senior Jess Kelly met twine three times in the game. She scored in the 22nd, 30th and 49th minutes.
  • Senior Tara Smith added the third goal of the game in the 33rd minute.
  • Freshmen Mackenzie Hoffman connected with classmate Erin Vander Plaat in the 74th minute to cap the scoring
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Senior Kayla Haberbosch assisted on Kelly's first goal of the day, while junior Mia Bertolami assisted on the second goal
  • Arcadia's attack put 11 of its 23 shot attempts on goal
  • The Knights' defense held the opposition to seven total shots
  • The Scarlet and Grey took five corner kicks, while Stevenson took four
  • Freshman Brianna Williams got the win as she made one save in 45 minutes of work; senior Evelyn Feigeles made two saves in the second half
  • Tiffany McKee allowed five goals and made six saves for Stevenson

  • Arcadia has won five of its last six games
  • This was Kelly's fifth multi-goal game this season
