CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's volleyball team picked up a pair of wins Saturday afternoon, downing DeSales 3-1 and Randolph 3-0 in tri-match action. The win marks Arcadia's fifth win in its last seven games.
 
SET SCORES:

• DeSales: 15-25, 25-23, 25-17, 25-11
• Randolph: 25-17, 25-16, 25-20

 
HOW IT HAPPENED - DESALES:

• DeSales took the first set behind a big early run
• Arcadia went ahead for good in the second set behind a seven point run late
• The Knights outpaced the Bulldogs in the third set, using an early 6-0 run to jump out to a 10-4 lead
• The Scarlet and Grey dominated the third set by jumping out to a 20-7 lead.

 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE – DESALES:

• Junior Lizzie Joseph powered the Arcadia attack as she hit 50% with 12 kills.
• Sophomore Shannon Ryan added nine kills and two blocks while chipping in 12 digs defensively.
• Freshman Julia Paliwodsinski handed out a match-best 36 assists
• Sophomore Emily Eng registered match-high 20 digs
• Freshman Miranda Baronett added four service aces
• Arcadia totaled 62 points on 44 kills, 12 aces and six blocks
• DeSales was led by Morghan Shoemaker with 11 kills and Natalie Gray with 18 digs
• The Bulldogs scored 43 points on 34 kills, four aces and five blocks

 
HOW IT HAPPENED – RANDOLPH:

• The Knights used a 10-3 run to take the lead for good in the first set, jumping ahead 18-13.
• A 12-3 spurt gave the Scarlet and Grey complete control in the second set.
• Arcadia staved off a late comeback attempt in the third set, before scoring five of the last eight points for the win

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE – RANDOLPH:

• Ryan led the attack for Arcadia with a match-best 10 kills and added three service aces
• Paliwodzinski handed out 25 assists to lead all players
• Eng led the defense with 11 digs
• The Knights scored 51 points on 36 kills, 12 aces and three blocks
• Randolph totaled 35 points on 30 kills with four aces and a block
