Ferlow’s 65th Minute Goal Proves the Difference as Field Hockey Bests Lebanon Valley 4-3

GLENSIDE, Pa. – Freshman Michaela Ferlow scored what proved to be the game-winner in the 65th minute, as the Arcadia University field hockey team defeated Lebanon Valley 4-3 in MAC Commonwealth action Saturday afternoon. The Knights found the back of the net twice in each half.
 
FOR THE RECORD:
  • The Scarlet and Grey improved to 9-8 on the year and 2-4 against MAC Commonwealth foe
  • The Dutchmen fell to 6-10 overall and 2-4 in conference play
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Senior Liz Stierle opened the scoring early in the first half, as she put a pass from sophomore Isabelle Houser into an open net in the 8th minute
  • Houser cleaned up a scramble in front of the cage in the 16th minute to put Arcadia up 2-1
  • Stierle gave the Knights a 3-2 lead with her second marker of the day in the 52nd minute, before Ferlow's game-winner in the 65th minute.
  • Lebanon Valley scored in the 11th, 26th and 68th minutes
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
  • Junior Gabby Sedares handed out assists on both second half goals
  • The Knights outshot the visitors 16-14 overall and 11-8 in shots on goal
  • Freshman Lauren Dougherty led all players with six shots
  • Freshman Maya Stern made five saves in the win for Arcadia
NOTES:
  • Houser and Sedares are tied for the team-lead with eight assists
  • This is the Knights' second-straight win over the Dutchmen
  • The Knights snapped a four-game losing streak
  • Arcadia sits one game behind Albright for the final playoff spot

  • The Knights will honor Stierle, their lone senior, Monday night on Senior Day against Bryn Athyn
