Women’s Volleyball Shuts Out Moravian

GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's volleyball team picked up a 3-0 win over Moravian Tuesday night. The win is Arcadia's 10th 3-0 win of the season.
 
FOR THE RECORD:
  • The Knights improved to 19-10 on the year
  • The Greyhounds dropped to 15-14
SET SCORES:
  • 25-18, 25-22, 26-24
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • With the score tied at 16 in the first set, the Scarlet and Grey scored nine of the set's final 11 points
  • The Knights led by as many as eight in the second set, before staving off a late rally. Sophomore Shannon Ryan ended a Greyhound run and the set with a kill.
  • Arcadia held the early advantage in the third set before the visitors fought back. With the set tied at 24, junior Lizzie Joseph put the Knights back on serve with a kill before sealing the match with an ace.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
  • The Scarlet and Grey scored 48 points on 40 kills, four aces and four blocks
  • Ryan led the attack with 10 kills
  • Freshman Julia Paliwodzinski registered a team-leading 26 assists, while chipping in 11 digs on the defensive side
  • Joseph, classmate Katie Wilson, sophomore Emily Eng and senior Colleen Stengel all had a service ace
  • Eng racked up a match-high 19 digs
  • Moravian totaled 39 points on 32 kills, three aces and four blocks
NOTES:
  • Arcadia beat Moravian for the second straight season
  • The Knights have won five of their last six matches
STILL TO COME:
  • The Knights wrap conference play Thursday night when they host Widener on Senior Day
  • The regular season comes to a close at Kean Saturday afternoon in tri-match action with The City College of New York.
