GLENSIDE, Pa. – The fourth-seeded Arcadia University men's soccer team hosts fifth-seeded Alvernia Monday night in the Play-In Game of the MAC Commonwealth Championship. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
TICKET INFORMATION: Per conference policy, all fans must pay admission to the game. Admission fees are as follows: Adults - $5, Senior Citizens - $4, Students (with ID) and Children - $2, Pre-school (under 6) – Free. All Arcadia students, faculty and staff with a valid Arcadia ID will be admitted for free courtesy of the Athletic Department.

ABOUT ARCADIA: Arcadia started the year with a 6-1-1 record in non-conference play before facing a MAC Commonwealth opponent; the Knights went on to add a 3-2 win at Staten Island to cap non-conference action at 7-1-1. To earn the fourth seed in the postseason tournament, the Scarlet and Grey went 4-3-1 against MAC Commonwealth competition. Arcadia closed out the season unbeaten (4-0-1) over its final five matches. As a team, the Scarlet and Grey outscored its opponents 32-20.
ARCADIA LEADERS: Junior
Ryan Hammer leads the attack with 19 points on six goals and a team-best seven assists. This season saw 11 different players score a goal, led by senior
Bradley McKim's seven. Freshman
Harun Abdullahi added five goals, while classmate Duncan O'Conner found the back of the net three times. Senior
Chris Watson posted a 10-4-2 record in goal, with a 1.08 goals against average and .818 save percentage; he enters the week as the reigning MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week. In front of Watson, senior
Kameron Bush played a key role in Arcadia's success as the team's top center back and defensive leader. Senior
Tyler Ihle also held a strong presence in the defensive midfield.
COACH SAYS: "I am very proud of the team this year and the work they have done to put themselves in a positive position at the most important time of the year," said head men's soccer coach
Rob Nydick. "Being in the MAC Commonwealth Championship is a huge honor for us, and I am confident that we can use the experiences we have had to date to steer us along throughout the playoffs. I am also extremely proud of this group of seniors and the way they have conducted themselves. They held themselves to a high standard and it has shown every time they have stepped on the field."
ABOUT ALVERNIA: The Golden Wolves enter postseason play as the fifth seed following a 4-4 record in conference during the regular season; Alvernia went 10-8-1 overall and ended the season with four straight wins. Raine Slovak totaled 10 points on two goals and a team-high six assists to lead the team. Adam Orndorff scored a team-best eight goals. Zach Rider started every game in goal going 10-8-1 with a 0.75 goals against average and a .814 save percentage.
ARCADIA'S POSTSEASON HISTORY: This is the Knights' fourth straight appearance in the MAC Commonwealth Championship and seventh appearance overall. In last season's Play-In Game, fifth-seeded Arcadia bested fourth-seeded Hood 4-3 in penalty kicks to advance to the Semifinal match.
