Davis Scores 20+ Points in Second-Straight Game to Push Knights Past Scranton, 72-56

SCRANTON, Pa. – Freshman Da'Kquan Davis dropped a career-high 22 points Tuesday night to help the Arcadia University men's basketball team drop the Scranton Royals, 72-56.
 
FOR THE RECORD:
  • The Knights jumped to 5-5 on the season.
  • Scranton fell to 2-7.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Knights responded to a Scranton 10-4 lead early in the first half with a 16-2 run that would last just over six minutes, giving Arcadia a 20-12 lead with 8:14 left in the first. Over that span, the Knights forced five turnovers, aiding in Davis dropping 11 points.
  • Over the final 4:45 of the half, Arcadia would capitalize with a 17-2 run to extend its lead to 39-22. Three scorers contributed to the run, with Davis and junior Jon Lott each contributing six points.
  • The Knights extended their lead early in the second frame, using a 16-2 run over a five-minute span to take a 55-32 lead with 12:22 left. Junior Phil Pierfy dropped eight, while Davis and senior Brandon Thompson each added three.
  • The Royals tried to creep back into the game, however the Knights forced five turnovers during the last 10 minutes of the game to take the game, 72-56.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
  • Davis shot 7-of-8 from both the floor and the charity stripe.
  • Also contributing the Knights offensive attack was Thompson (11 points), Pierfy (10), and Lott (9).
  • For the game, Arcadia shot 50% from the floor, converting on 26-of-50 attempts.
  • The Knights saw 36 points in the paint on the night, accounting for half of the team's scoring efforts.
GAME NOTES:
  • The victory makes it two in a row for the Knights, and first on the road since taking down Lewis & Clark for the Hoops in Hawaii Thanksgiving Classic on November 25.
UP NEXT:
  • Arcadia is back in action this Saturday as it hosts Salisbury for an afternoon showdown. Game time is set for 3 p.m. from Alumni Gymnasium.
