Fritz Drops Career-High 18, Four Reach Double Figures as Women’s Basketball Bests Rosemont

GLENSIDE, Pa. – Freshman Taylor Fritz deposited a career-best 18 points Saturday afternoon to lead the Arcadia University women's basketball team to a 64-60 win over Rosemont. Fritz was one of four Knights to reach double figures.
 
FOR THE RECORD:
  • The Knights bolstered their record to 5-5 on the season with their second straight win.
  • The Ravens fell to 7-3.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Knights came out of the gates hot, going on an 8-2 run over the first three minutes of the game. Paving the way was sophomore Taylor Dunn with half of the team's points. Arcadia ended the opening frame on an 8-4 run. This time it was Fritz leading the team during the 3:54 span with four points. The Knights would end the first quarter leading 18-12.
  • The second stanza started off with a 10-6 run for the Scarlet and Grey, extending the led to 10. A minute and thirty seconds later, the Knights stormed off to an 8-0 run, distributing the ball evenly with four scorers hitting a bucket. Heading to the half, the game was knotted at 37.
  • Arcadia dominated most of the third, using a 14-5 run over the final 7:45 to overcome a four-point deficit and take a five-point lead heading into the final quarter, 51-46. Over the span, junior Camille Menns scored seven points.
  • Entering the final stanza, the Ravens tried to make a comeback, however sophomore Courtney Hoffman solidified the game with five points from the charity stripe, including the final three, to give the Knights a 64-60 victory.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
  • As a team, the Knights shot an impressive 50% (14-of-28) from the floor.
  • Four players scored in double-digits, including Fritz (18), Dunn (15), Hoffman (12) and Menns (10).
  • Arcadia led the game for a total of 29:47 minutes.
GAME NOTES:
  • Menns notched her fifth double-double on the season (10 points, 14 rebounds). Her 14 boards tie her career-high.
  • Hoffman's 12 points represent the sophomore's career-high.
  • Dunn has scored in double digits in four-straight games and seven times on the season.
  • The Knights are currently riding a two-game win streak.

The Knights have a two-week break until they're back in action on Saturday December 30. Arcadia will take on TCNJ for an afternoon matchup inside the Kuch Center. Tipoff is slated for 1 p.m.
