Dunn Leads All Scorers with 21 Points, Women’s Basketball Falls to TCNJ

GLENSIDE, Pa. – Freshman Taylor Dunn fueled the Arcadia women's basketball offense with 21 points Saturday afternoon, however the Knights fell to TCNJ 74-62. Dunn's performance was her fifth straight double-figure output.
 
FOR THE RECORD:
  • The Scarlet and Grey moved to 5-6 on the season.
  • The Lions jumped to 8-3.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Six different players registered points over the opening 10 minutes for the Knights, however Arcadia saw it self behind 20-11 after one quarter.
  • Dunn and sophomore Courtney Hoffman highlighted a second quarter in which the Knights outscored the opposition 16-14. The pair each netted five points in the frame. Arcadia was 7-of-7 at the charity stripe in the frame. The Knights ended the half on a seven-point run, but trailed 34-27 at the break.
  • Dunn deposited 10 of her 21 points in the third quarter, as the Chalfont, Pa. native converted five of her eight field goal attempts. Arcadia trailed 52-42 after the stanza.
  • Freshman Taylor Fritz matched Dunn's third quarter showing with 10 points of her own in the fourth. Trailing 68-50 with 3:30 left on the clock, the Philadelphia native highlighted a 10-1 Knights' run with six points. Sophomore Sydney Cyr capped the run with a pair of free throws to cut the margin to 69-60.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
  • Fritz (16) and Hoffman (11) joined Dunn in double-figures.
  • The battle on the boards was near even, with Arcadia holding a 42-41 edge. Junior Camille Menns led all players on the glass with 12 rebounds. Dunn and Fritz pulled in seven boards each.
  • As a team, the Knights shot 23-of-69 from the floor and converted 14-of-16 free throw attempts.
NOTES:
  • Menns has recorded double-digit rebounds in seven games this season, including the last three.
  • This marks' Dunns eighth double-digit scoring game of the season.
UP NEXT:
  • The Knights return to MAC Commonwealth play Wednesday night when the host Alvernia. Game time is set for 8 p.m.
