GRANTHAM, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's basketball team had three players in double figures, but fell at No. 17 Messiah, 87-56. Leading the Knights in scoring was sophomore
Taylor Dunn with 15 points; adding double digits were classmate
Courtney Hoffman (11 points) and junior
Camille Menns (10 points).
FOR THE RECORD:
- The Knights dropped to 3-4 on the season and 0-2 in MAC Commonwealth play.
- Messiah jumped to 7-0 and 2-0 in the conference.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Falcons opened the first quarter on a 19-8 run. The Knights pulled within eight points to end the first quarter, 22-14.
- Messiah took a 44-27 into the half.
- The Knights chipped away at the lead in the third stanza, having two separate 5-0 runs, cutting the deficit, 63-41.
- In the final period, the Knights went back-and-fourth with the Falcons, however Arcadia couldn't close the gap.
GAME NOTES:
- Hoffman's 11 points sit as a career-high for the Philadelphia, Pa. native.
- Dunn worked the glass, picking up seven rebounds for her career-best performance.
- Menn's added eight rebounds to extend her team lead to 61 boards.
- Each team pulled in 14 offensive rebounds, however Arcadia scored 18 second-chance points compared to Messiah's 13.
