GLENSIDE, Pa. – Sophomore
Taylor Dunn had a career day Saturday afternoon, to lead the Arcadia University women's basketball team against conference rival Stevenson, however, the Knights fell 63-55. Dunn posted her first career double-double with career highs in points (26) and rebounds (16).
FOR THE RECORD:
- The Knights dropped to 3-5 on the season and 0-3 in the MAC Commonwealth.
- Stevenson advanced to 7-3 on the year and 3-1 in the conference.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Scarlet and Grey answered Stevenson's game-opening 10 point run with the next nine points before ending the first quarter with down, 16-13.
- Four different Knights netted a point in the second frame, however the Mustangs took a 28-23 lead into the half.
- In the third, the Knights battled back to cut the deficit to four, but Stevenson answered back to finish the quarter up six.
- In the final stanza, the Knights would take a 9-2 run to recapture the lead by one point with 6:09 left. Dunn dropped seven of her 26 points, including five consecutive to start the quarter. Stevenson bounced back to go on its own run to solidify the victory, 63-55.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- The Knights outrebounded the Mustangs, 49-32. Aside from Dunn's 16, junior Camille Menns corralled a game-high eight and freshman Taylor Fritz snagged seven.
- Dunn netted her 26 points on 9 of 16 shooting from the floor, including 3-6 from long range. The Chalfont, Pa. native was also a perfect five-of-five from the line.
- On the offensive end, sophomore Jamie Manzo matched her career-high with 10 points.
UP NEXT:
- The Knights will head over the bridge into the Garden State to take on Rutgers-Camden for a Tuesday night matchup. The game is set to tip at 6 p.m.
