GLENSIDE, Pa. – A capacity crowd of golfers participated in the fourth annual Arcadia University Athletic Department golf outing fundraiser on a perfect summer afternoon at Old York Road Country Club on Monday, June 26. This marked the second straight sellout of the event, which raises funds to benefit Arcadia's nearly 400 student-athletes.
A total of 124 golfers signed up to help support the Knights' successful and growing department, which sponsors 19 varsity programs. There were 71 golfers at the inaugural golf outing in 2014, 87 golfers in 2015, and 115 golfers last year.
"On behalf of the Arcadia Athletic Department, I'd like to thank all the donors, sponsors and contributors for their support," said Athletics Business Manager
Michael Hebenstreit, who oversaw the planning and execution of the event for the second straight year. "Additionally, I would like to thank the record number of golfers that participated in the outing, as well as our coaches, staff, student-athletes, volunteers, and the staff at Old York Road Country Club who made this a memorable event."
The 2017 Arcadia Athletics Golf Outing featured a barbeque lunch, 18 holes at the private, member-only Old York Road Country Club, cocktail hour, and dinner.
