DALLAS, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's soccer team traveled to Dallas to take on the 24
th-ranked Misericordia Cougars Saturday night, falling 1-0.
FOR THE RECORD: The Knights now sit at 5-2 on the season, while Misericordia moved to 5-0-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Both teams came out firing shots; however, it was the Knights who were putting shots on goal. The Scarlet and Grey put the Cougar goalkeeper to the test three times in the first 21 minutes of play. Freshman goalkeeper
Brianna Williams did her part, as she denied three shots in the frame, two coming a minute apart in the 28
th and 29
th minutes. Arcadia maintained pressure throughout the half, culminating in one final test of the keeper from senior
Kayla Haberbosch five seconds before the frame ended.
Arcadia's attack kept going into the second half, as the Knights took a corner and two shots in the half's first five minutes. After the hosts netted their goal in the 81
st minute, the Scarlet and Grey kept the Cougars' keeper on her toes as they fired two more shots on target, including one in the game's final minute.
IN GOAL: Williams (5-2) made five saves in the game, while Alyssa Pojero (5-0-2) was forced to make nine saves.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS: Arcadia put nine shots on goal, compared to just six for Misericordia. The Cougars took seven corner kicks, while the Knights took three. Fouls were near even as Arcadia was called for seven and Misericordia was called for nine.
