Men’s Soccer Clips Juniata 2-0

Box Score HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's soccer team moved to 2-0-0 on the season after defeating Juniata 2-0 Saturday afternoon.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED: Picking up where it left off last night, the Arcadia offense went to work early, scoring both of its goals in the first 23 minutes of action. Freshman Duncan O'Connor opened the scoring with his first career tally, an unassisted effort, in the 12th minute. Just shy of the 23-minute mark, junior Ryan Hammer buried his second goal of the season to double the Knights' advantage.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS: The Scarlet and Grey controlled the attack, as it fired 14 shots, including nine on goal. Defensively, the Knights allowed just one shot on goal and four shots overall. The hosts were called for 13 fouls, while Arcadia was called for 15.
 
IN GOAL: Senior Chris Watson (2-0-0) made one save to earn the shutout. Andrew Yeich (0-2-0) took the loss for Juniata, allowing two goals and making six saves in 45 minutes of work; Jacob Owings made one save in 45 minutes of relief.
