Women's Basketball Loses to #20/25 Messiah

GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia women's basketball team lost to no. 20/25 Messiah Saturday afternoon, 75-45.
 
FOR THE RECORD:
  • The Knights drop to 8-12 on the season and 3-8 in the conference.
  • Messiah advanced to 17-2, with a 9-1 MAC Commonwealth record. 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • In the first half, the Knights saw five different players register a point, with sophomore Courtney Hoffman leading the charge with five. The Falcons took a 34-14 lead into the break.
  • In the third stanza, the Knights tried to chip away at Messiah's lead, however the Falcons continued to respond. The Scarlet and Grey took a 6-2 run in the third over a 1:50 span to cut the deficit, however the Falcons ended the frame up, 58-31.
  • In the final frame, the Knights saw an 8-4 run, cutting the deficit to 25. Over the 3:39 span, sophomore Taylor Dunn dropped six points for the Scarlet and Grey. Ultimately, Messiah held its lead until the buzzer. 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
  • Ten of the 11 players for Arcadia that saw action scored a point on the night.
  • Dunn led the team in scoring with eight points.
  • On the glass, junior Camille Menns and sophomore Sydney Cyr were tied for a team high seven rebounds. 
UP NEXT:
  • The Knights head on the road after a week-long break, taking on Lycoming on Saturday (2/3). Tipoff is set for 1 p.m.
