WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Sophomore
Taylor Dunn led the Arcadia women's basketball team with 19 points, while junior
Camille Menns recorded a game high 11 rebounds as the Knights fell to Lycoming, 66-49.
FOR THE RECORD:
- Arcadia slipped to 8-13 overall, with a MAC Commonwealth record of 3-9.
- Lycoming advanced to 16-5, with an 11-3 conference mark.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After the Warriors jumped out to a 12-point lead midway through the first frame, the Knights took a 16-10 run over the final 5:44 to cut the deficit to six, 24-18. Over that span, the Scarlet and Grey shot 6-of-9 from the floor, including 2-of-3 from long range. Leading the scoring efforts, was sophomore Jamie Manzo, who dropped six points. Dunn and freshman Anna Spaschak also contributed five points apiece.
- The Warriors grew their lead in the second stanza, before Arcadia jumped onto a 12-2 run, cutting the deficit to two at the end of the period. Over the span, which lasted 4:44, Dunn registered nine points for the Knights, while sophomore Renee Hersperger added three. The Warriors took a 34-32 lead into the break.
- Coming out of the break, Arcadia was able to tie the game at 34, before Lycoming strung together a few runs to regain a 50-37 lead at the end of the third period.
- In the final frame, Arcadia rallied with a 10-5 run late in the quarter, over a 5:16 span. Manzo scored four points on the run, with sophomores Sydney Cyr and Courtney Hoffman each adding three. Despite the late rally, Lycoming was able to seal the victory.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Joining Dunn in double digits was Manzo, who finished with 10 points.
- As a team, the Knights shot 40% (6-of-15) from beyond the arc.
- On the glass, Arcadia was able to outrebound Lycoming, 36-30, including a game high 11 board from Menns.
GAME NOTES:
- Spaschak's five points on the afternoon is a career high.
