Knights Win Fifth in a Row, 3-0, over Delaware Valley

GLENSIDE, Pa. -- The Arcadia field hockey team won its fifth game in a row with a 3-0 victory over Delaware Valley on Tuesday night at Jean Lenox West Field and Delran Pavilion.

The Knights improved to 8-2 with the win, while the Aggies slipped to 5-5 overall. The Knights' eight wins in 10 games is AU's best 10-game start to a season since the Scarlet & Grey went 8-2 to open 2012 on its way to a 15-6 season.

Mickie March scored her second goal in as many games just over a minute into the contest for an early 1-0 lead. Gabby Sedares set up the goal for her third assist of the season.

In the 43rd minute, it was Sedares who benefited from a nice pass as Lauren Dougherty fed a pass across the circle following a penalty corner, and Sedares blasted her sixth goal of the season past Kita Konerth for a 2-0 lead. Lindsay Bechtold made it 3-0 with an unassisted drive in the 56th minute

The Aggies didn't even take their first shot of the game until the clock showed 20:09 in the second half, and finished with just the one for the game.

IN GOAL: Ashton Evans, the MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week, kept her sparkling record intact and improved to 5-0 on the season. She was not forced to make a save. Konerth made six saves for the Aggies and fell to 1-4 overall.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: Arcadia outshot the Aggies 16-1, including 9-0 in shots on goal … Arcadia also had 11 penalty corners, while Delaware Valley didn't generate a single one … The shutout was the fourth in a row for the Knights and sixth overall - AU had just two shutouts all of last season.

UP NEXT: The Knights are at Hood on Saturday beginning at 12 p.m.
