GRANTHAM, Pa. -- The second-ranked Messiah field hockey team knocked off Arcadia, 4-0, on Saturday afternoon at Anderson Field.
 
The Knights, who have already secured a top-3 seed in the MAC Commonwealth Championships, fell to 12-4 on the season and suffered their first league defeat and stand at 5-1 in conference play. The Falcons, ranked second nationally, remain undefeated at 15-0 overall and 6-0 in the MAC Commonwealth.
 
The Falcons scored two goals in each half, in the 11th, and 21st minute in the first half and the 40th and 46th in the second half.
 
IN GOAL: 
Ashton Evans started and played the first 40:09, making two saves and allowing three goals. 
Allison Nikolaus played the final 29:51 and made four save with one goal allowed. Shelby Landes started for the Falcons and played 57:04. Megan Bomba closed out the game in cage.
 
UP NEXT: The Knights take on Alvernia in a contest that will determine the second seed and home field advantage in the MAC Commonwealth semifinal round. The two teams will meet in Reading on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
