WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -- The 14th-ranked Lycoming Warriors held off the Arcadia men's soccer team 2-1 on Saturday afternoon.

The Knights stand at 5-9-1 on the season and 2-4 in conference play, while the Warriors improve to 13-2-1 and 5-1-0 in the MAC Commonwealth.

All three of the game's goals were scored in the final 15 minutes of play and all came on set pieces. The Warriors' Tyler Flood headed in a free kick by Jake Webb at the 76:59 mark to break a scoreless tie.

Ryan Hammer, the Knights' leading scorer, tied the match at 1-1 in the 82nd minute when he scored on a free kick from just outside the box. Lycoming, however, needed just over two minutes to pull ahead once more, this time on a free kick from Josh Cruz.

Chris Solecki came up with a pair of saves after the Warriors took the lead, the last coming on a shot from
Manny Camacho with under a minute to play.

IN GOAL:
Jake Varrato made four saves in goal for Arcadia and played the entire contest. Solecki came up with six saves on the day, and benefited from some solid defensive work from his back line as a ball was cleared off the goal line in the 79th minute.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: Lycoming held a 13-12 edge in shots, but took 10 in the second half. A stark contrast to the first half that saw eight shots combined … The Warriors committed 21 fouls to 14 for AU, but the Knights picked up three yellow cards, all in the second half, while Lycoming wasn't booked at all … Hammer's goal was his 10th of the season, a total that ranks third in the MAC Commonwealth and is nearly double the six that he scored last season … Eight of the Knights' nine losses have now come by one goal.
