GLENSIDE, Pa. – Two second half goals lifted Alvernia to a 2-0 win over the Arcadia men's soccer team on Saturday afternoon at Jean Lenox West Field and Delran Pavilion.
The Knights fall to 3-8-1 (0-3 MACC) on the season, while Alvernia improves to 5-7-2 (1-1 MACC).
After a scoreless first half, Alvernia broke the ice in the 80th minute, when Gabe Senesing beat Colin Day, giving the Golden Wolves the 1-0 lead.
Alvernia extended its lead in the 87th minute, when Dominic Gallo scored, pushing the Knights' deficit to 2-0.
Arcadia was unable to find an answer late in the second half, falling to the Golden Wolves.
IN GOAL: Day played all 90 minutes and made three saves for the Knights. Luca Grippi stopped nine shots for Alverrnia.
BY THE NUMBERS: The Knights had 12 shots total for the contest with nine on goal, while Alvernia had eight shots total for the match and five on goal …
Logan Stafford had three shots on goal in the contest for Arcadia … This is the fifth time that the Knights have had double-digit shots in a defeat this season.
