WILKES BARRE, Pa. -- Arcadia's field hockey team overpowered Wilkes 5-3 on its way to its seventh straight win on Monday night at Schmidt Stadium.

The Knights' seventh-straight win matches the seven-game win streak they posted from Oct. 4th to Oct. 28th back in 2014. Arcadia now stands at 10-2 overall, while the Colonels fell to 6-7 on the season.

The Knights struck for four goals in the first half to take a 4-2 lead at the break.
Gabby Sedares opened the scoring just 1:56 in. She scored off a penalty corner insertion from
Isabelle Houser and it marked the fifth straight game that she has tallied at least one goal.

At the 5:52 of the first half, Sedares set up
Lindsay Bechtold, who finished off a 2-on-1, to put the Knights up 2-0 early. Wilkes trimmed its deficit to 2-1 at the 9:49 mark on a Zoe Stepanksi goal, but Sedares restored the two-goal cushion off an assist from
Lauren Dougherty in the 21st minute that made it 3-1.

The scoring remained fast and furious in the first half, as the Colonels need just over five minutes to make it 3-2 on Ali Dunn's goal, but
Sydney Cyr scored at the end of the first half for her first goal of the season and a 4-2 lead going into the break.

Lindsay Bechtold's second goal of the game fewer than five minutes into the second period pushed AU's lead to 5-2, before Wilkes capped the scoring in the 60th minute to make it 5-3.

IN GOAL:
Ashton Evans started in goal for Arcadia and allowed three goals, the first she has allowed all season, and made two saves.
Allison Nikolaus played the final 10:01 and made one save. Dallas Kendra played all 70:00 for the Colonels and came up with seven saves and five goals allowed.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: Shots were relatively even at 18-13 in favor of the Knights, but AU held a 12-6 lead in shots on goal … During their current seven-game win streak, the Knights have outscored their opponents 24-5, and the three goals allowed to Wilkes were more than the first six games in the streak combined.
