WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -- The Arcadia women's basketball team dropped a 55-52 decision at Lycoming on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Knights suffered their first league loss of the season and fell to 4-5 overall and 2-1 in the MAC Commonwealth. The Warriors improved to 7-2 overall and 4-0 in league play. Lycoming closed the game on a 12-5 run over the final 5:10, hitting on 5 of 6 shots from the floor in the come-from-behind win.
 
Taylor Dunn, who entered the game averaging 20.9 points per game, led the Knights with 26 points on 8 of 15 shooting, including 4 of 7 from long range. 
Julia Makowski added 12 points, 
Asya Alba handed out six assists with six rebounds, and 
Camille Menns scored six points with six boards.
 
Courtney Hoffman gave the Knights a 47-43 lead with 5:59 to play before the Warriors began chipping away at the lead. Erica Lutz's jumper with 3:37 to play tied the game at 47-47, but Dunn answered for AU with a layup to put AU up 49-47 at the 2:42 mark.
 
Lutz tied the game once more at 49-49, but Dunn came up with another answer, a three off a feed from Makowski for a 52-49 lead with 1:06 left. Lutz quickly answered with a clutch layup with 45 seconds to play that cut Lycoming's deficit to 52-51. The Warriors took the lead (53-52) on a layup with 13 seconds left. Two free throws with just under three seconds to play capped the scoring at 55-52. Arcadia was unable to get a potential game-tying shot off before time expired.
 
The Knights, on the strength of a 19-point first quarter, took a 31-27 lead into the break. The Knights closed the first quarter on an 11-4 scoring run, and Dunn scored 11 of her 26 points in the first 10 minutes. The Scarlet & Grey's lead reached as many as 11 (31-20) in the second quarter, but the Warriors kept it close with a 7-0 spurt to close the first half. Lycoming boasted a 12-11 scoring edge in the third quarter as AU was unable to pull away.
 
As a team, Arcadia shot 31.5 percent (17-54) from the floor, but hit on 5 of 13 (.385) three-point attempts. The Warriors shot 43.8 percent (21-48) from the floor and held a 36-32 edge on the glass.
 
Erica Lutz led the Warriors with 23 points, 10 rebounds and five steals.
 
The Knights host Stevenson next Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.
