Muscara's Five Goals Pushes Men's Lacrosse Over DeSales, 9-5

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Sophomore Clo Muscara paved the way for Arcadia men's lacrosse Tuesday afternoon, as the Freehold, N.J. native scored five goals in the Knights win over DeSales, 9-5.

FOR THE RECORD:
  • Arcadia moves to 2-1 on the year.
  • DeSales falls to 0-3 to start the season.
COACH SAYS:
  • "Another good win for the team," said head men's lacrosse coach Nick Taylor. "We talked about how it's hard to win mid-week on the road and I thought our guys handled a slow start and stayed committed to our game plan for a team win."
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The hosts took the first quarter, 2-1. The lone Arcadia goal came from freshman Daniel Sledge.
  • The second frame belonged to the Knights. The Scarlet and Grey took the frame, 3-2, to even the score heading into the break, 4-4. Within a 12 second span, Muscara and Sledge went back-to-back on unassisted goals. The final Knight goal on the frame came from Muscara off of a feed from freshman Kameron McKithen.
  • Arcadia pulled away in the third period, scoring three unanswered goals to push its lead to 7-4. Muscara notched the first score of the frame for the Knights, followed by the first goal on the season from senior Steve McCrossin. McCrossin's score came on a dish from sophomore Austin Williams. The final goal of the quarter came from junior CJ Sherlock, for his first on the campaign. Williams assisted on his second straight goal.
  • In the final stanza, the Knights outscored the Bulldogs 2-1, to end the game on top, 9-5. Muscara netted both scores in the frame, one on an assist from sophomore Tanner Pajakinas and the other from Williams.
