CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Sophomore
Clo Muscara paved the way for Arcadia men's lacrosse Tuesday afternoon, as the Freehold, N.J. native scored five goals in the Knights win over DeSales, 9-5.
FOR THE RECORD:
- Arcadia moves to 2-1 on the year.
- DeSales falls to 0-3 to start the season.
COACH SAYS:
- "Another good win for the team," said head men's lacrosse coach Nick Taylor. "We talked about how it's hard to win mid-week on the road and I thought our guys handled a slow start and stayed committed to our game plan for a team win."
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The hosts took the first quarter, 2-1. The lone Arcadia goal came from freshman Daniel Sledge.
- The second frame belonged to the Knights. The Scarlet and Grey took the frame, 3-2, to even the score heading into the break, 4-4. Within a 12 second span, Muscara and Sledge went back-to-back on unassisted goals. The final Knight goal on the frame came from Muscara off of a feed from freshman Kameron McKithen.
- Arcadia pulled away in the third period, scoring three unanswered goals to push its lead to 7-4. Muscara notched the first score of the frame for the Knights, followed by the first goal on the season from senior Steve McCrossin. McCrossin's score came on a dish from sophomore Austin Williams. The final goal of the quarter came from junior CJ Sherlock, for his first on the campaign. Williams assisted on his second straight goal.
- In the final stanza, the Knights outscored the Bulldogs 2-1, to end the game on top, 9-5. Muscara netted both scores in the frame, one on an assist from sophomore Tanner Pajakinas and the other from Williams.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Senior goalkeeper A.J. Beck picked up his second-straight win, while making 10 saves.
- Junior Joe Trovato contributed on the defensive end, scooping up seven ground balls and causing two turnovers.
UP NEXT:
- The Knights are set to host Delaware Valley on Friday in the Battle of the Bucks-Mont Hammer. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Jean Lenox West Field.
