KISSIMMEE, Fla. – Arcadia softball dropped both games Sunday afternoon, losing to Susquehanna, 11-3, and falling to Webster, 3-2, in extra innings.
FOR THE RECORD:
- The Knights fall to 1-3 on the season.
- Springfield advances to 2-0 on the season, while Webster moves to 4-5.
Springfield 11, Arcadia 3 – F/5
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Springfield took an 8-0 lead into the bottom of the fourth before the Scarlet and Grey were able to plate a run. Senior Amanda Hess led off the inning by reaching on an error by the right fielder, making her way to third. The next batter, freshman Jackie Zwicker, singled to right, driving in Hess. Freshman Alexis Burge followed up Zwicker's single, by showing off her plate discipline and drawing the walk. Two batters later, senior Nicole Iasiello doubled to right center, driving in Zwicker and Burge. The comeback was too late, as the Pride took the game, 11-3, after five innings.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Iasiello finished the game with two RBIs, while Zwicker drove in one.
Webster 3, Arcadia 2 – F/8
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Webster took a 2-0 lead into the top of the third until the Knights responded. Sophomore Ashley Eckett led off the inning with a double to left center. Freshman Alexa Vardiman was up next, as she reached on an error by the pitcher, advancing Eckett to third. After Vardiman advanced to second on a groundout, Burge grounded out to short, bringing Eckett in from third to cut the deficit to 2-1. Vardiman later scored on a wild pitch to tie things up at two, forcing extra innings. Despite the going into extras, Webster came out on top.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Junior Jackie Bilotti went two-for-four on the day.
- In the circle, freshman Brooke Ward got the nod, going five innings, allowing four hits and two earned runs.
- In relief, sophomore Mary Pat Murray went 2.1 innings with one unearned run.

- The Knights are back in action tomorrow for another two games as they take on McDaniel (3:45 p.m.) and SUNY Cortland (6 p.m.).
