WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Arcadia men's volleyball team picked up its third straight win Thursday, 3-1 (25-27, 25-15, 25-22, 25-13) over Wilkes. Freshman
Anthony Devantier racked up a career-high 50 assists on the night.
FOR THE RECORD:
- The Scarlet and Grey improved to 14-10 on the year and 7-2 in the MAC.
- The Colonels are now 6-19 overall and 2-8 in conference play.
COACH SAYS:
- "Tonight was a great match," said head men's volleyball coach Eli Porr. "We have to give props to Wilkes, they played almost perfect volleyball in the first set. Our middles, [sophomores] Robie [Moctezuma] and Austin [Braas] did a really nice job offensively tonight and I thought Anthony distributed the ball very well. I also want to recognize [sophomore] Alvyn [Abraham] on playing well, covering the opposite side tonight."
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After falling 27-25 in a back-and-forth opening set, the Knights stormed out of the gate in set two by scoring 11 of the first 15 points. Arcadia led by as many as 10 in the set, claiming it by that margin at 25-15.
- The Knights held the early advantage in the third set before the hosts tied it at 13. The rest of the game would be neck-and-neck before Arcadia claimed four of the final five points for the 25-22 win.
- The third set saw Arcadia storm out to a 10-5 lead before taking total control with a six-point run that put it up 20-8. Devnatier capped the match with a service ace.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- The Knights hit .336 on the night, totaling 76 points on 60 kills, 12 blocks and four aces.
- Sophomores Austin Brass (15) and Edwin Waters Jr. (12) and freshman Quinn Baily (11) led the Arcadia attack. Devantier added a team-best three aces to his 50 assists.
- Braas totaled four block assists, while Baily and sophomore Robie Moctezuma each had three.
- Baily completed the double-double with a team-leading 11 digs.
- Junior Alvyn Abraham added 10 digs.

- The Knights continue MAC play Monday night at Widener. The match is set to begin at 7 p.m.
