Williams Notches Six Points as Men’s Lacrosse Routs Alvernia, 22-8

READING, Pa – Sophomore Austin Williams registered six points to fuel the Arcadia men's lacrosse team as it cruised to a 22-8 against the Alvernia Golden Wolves Wednesday evening on the road.

  • Arcadia improves to 6-3 on the season and 2-2 in the MAC Commonwealth.
  • Alvernia slides to 0-10, with an 0-4 conference mark.
COACH SAYS
  • "It was a full team effort in a great conference win," said head men's lacrosse coach Nick Taylor. "I thought we did a good job playing fast and building momentum throughout the game."
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Knights and Golden Wolves traded goals during the first frame, but Arcadia held the lead at the end of the first quarter at 4-3. Arcadia saw goals from freshman Brady Manion, sophomore Josh Keitz and back-to-back goals by sophomore Austin Williams.
  • Arcadia tallied six unanswered goals in the second quarter and extended its lead to 10-4 at the half. The scores came from sophomores Philip Hane, Tanner Pajakinas, Clo Muscara, freshman JP Shaaber, and Williams.
  • The Knights kept the momentum going with five straight goals to begin the third quarter. They scored three more by the end of the frame for a 18-5 lead. The goals came from Pajakinas, Keitz, Manion, three from Muscara, junior CJ Sherlock, and freshman Kameron McKithen.
  • Arcadia finished things by tallying three of the game's final four goals. Scores came from senior Matt Mignogna, sophomore Ben Robbins and two consecutive goals from freshman Randy Collins.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
  • Williams scored three goals and three assists for six points.
  • Muscara netted four goals for four points and had three ground balls.
  • Pajakinas tallied three goals for three points.
  • Keitz had two goals and picked up 12 groundballs.
  • Hane had a goal and 10 groundballs.
