Muscara and Williams shine on Senior Day, but Men’s Lacrosse Falls in Overtime Thriller to Hood

GLENSIDE, Pa – Sophomores Austin Williams and Clo Muscara each recorded six points as Arcadia men's lacrosse fell to Hood Saturday afternoon in an overtime thriller, 16-15.
FOR THE RECORD
  • Arcadia drops to 6-4 and 2-3 in the MAC Commonwealth.
  • Hood moves to 7-4 and 1-3 in the conference.
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Arcadia raced out to a 7-1 advantage in the first frame with Muscara highlighting the scoresheet with four. The other goals were scored by freshmen JP Shaaber (2) and Daniel Sledge (1).
  • The Blazers rallied in the second quarter, but Williams, freshman Brady Manion and senior Nick Ferraro kept the Knights ahead at 10-7 at the break.
  • Sophomore Philip Hane and Muscara added scores in the third quarter, but Hood ripped off three straight to pull even at 12 apiece.
  • The Knights scored three of the first four goals to begin the fourth frame. Junior Conor Cunningham, Ferraro and Shaaber provided the goals. The Blazers came back one more time with three straight scores, including the game-winner in overtime.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
  • Muscara netted five goals and one assist, while picking up three groundballs.
  • Shaaber scored three goals and grabbed two groundballs.
  • Williams tallied one goal and five assists
  • Manion produced a goal and an assist, scooping up five groundballs.
  • Senior A.J. Beck stopped 14 shots.
GAME NOTES
  • Muscara tied a career-high with five goals. The Freehold, N.J. native is also tied for second all-time in career goals with 52.
  • Williams is tied for first all-time with 31 assists. The sophomore also tied the single game record with five assists.
  • Men's lacrosse honored its six seniors before the game.
