Muscara, Ferraro Register Hat Tricks as Men’s Lacrosse Challenges Montclair St.

GLENSIDE, Pa – The Arcadia men's lacrosse team battled Montclair St. in its non-conference finale Wednesday, falling 14-10. Senior Nick Ferraro and sophomore Clo Muscara each recorded a hat trick to lead the Knights
FOR THE RECORD:
  • Arcadia moved to 6-5 on the season.
  • The Red Hawks improved to 7-4 on the year.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Muscara opened the scoring for the Knights just over two minutes in to tie the game at one, however the visitors led, 3-1, after one quarter
  • Muscara had a hand in all three second quarter goals, as he scored Arcadia's first and third markers of the frame and assisted on freshman Daniel Sledge's seventh goal of the season. The Red Hawks led, 9-4, at the half.
  • Seniors Nick Ferraro and Matt Mignogna attempted to rally Arcadia with the first two goals of the third quarter.
  • The Knights finished strong by outscoring the Red Hawks, 4-2, in the fourth quarter. Ferraro scored twice in the stanza, with one goal coming from the stick of both freshman Kameron McKithen and sophomore Tanner Pajakinas.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
  • Muscara netted three goals and distributed two assists for five points.
  • Ferraro similarly scored three goals and picked up one assist for four points.
  • Mignogna tallied one goal and handed out an assist.
  • Junior Conor Cunningham went 16-for-25 at the faceoff dot and scooped up six groundballs.
IN GOAL:
  • Senior A.J. Beck (6-4) made seven saves in the start. Freshman Brendan Kuzminski denied five shots in the second half.
  • Jack Cardew (4-4) made four saves in the first have for Montclair St. Matthew McLaren saved five shots in the second half.
UP NEXT:
  • Arcadia travels to Stevenson University Saturday night for a MAC Commonwealth showdown with the Mustangs. Opening faceoff is set for 7 p.m.
