Pierfy, Towey Combined Knights Two Runs, but Baseball Falls in Final Regular Season Game

AMBLER, Pa. – Sophomore Dylan Towey crushed a pinch hit two-run homer in the seventh inning, scoring junior Phil Pierfy, however the Knights fell Thursday afternoon to the Swarthmore Garnet, 9-2.
 
FOR THE RECORD:
  • Arcadia dips to 30-14 overall.
  • Swarthmore sits at 33-9 on the year.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Swarthmore was out in front 8-0 when Towey blasted the two-run shot over the left field fence in the bottom of the seventh.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
  • Five different Knights each registered one hit.
ON THE MOUND:
  • Senior Jake Lloyd got the nod on the mound, pitching four innings and striking out five batters. He allowed just two hits.
  • Sophomore Andrew Scholz (3-4) took the loss on two innings of work with two strikeouts.
  • Sophomore Jeremy Sabathne was next out of the pen, pitching just 0.2 innings.
  • Junior Joel Bartoni ended the game with 2.1 innings of relief, striking out two batters.
