Carew Goes Yard, but No. 3 Baseball Falls in Opening Game of NCAA Regional to No. 6 Union

BEL AIR, Md. – Junior Sean Carew hit a rocket shot over the left field "monster" at Hartford Community College, however the No. 3 Knights fell to No. 6 Union, Thursday, 10-3.
 
FOR THE RECORD:
  • Arcadia dips to 30-15 overall.
  • Union moves to 31-11 on the year.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • After Union jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the third, Arcadia responded in the bottom half as junior Luke Hohenstein hit a sac fly to left, scoring freshman Matt Ernst from third.
  • The Dutchmen extended their lead to 6-1, before Carew hit a two-run blast over the left field wall to cut the deficit to 6-3.
  • Union added four insurance runs in final few innings for a 10-3 final.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
  • Six different Knights registered one hit.
  • Carew led the pack with his two-run homer.
ON THE MOUND:
  • Senior Jake Lloyd (2-2) went 4.1 innings, while striking out two.
  • Senior Mike Boulanger entered in relief, going the remaining 4.2 innings. Boulanger also struck out two batters faced.

  • The Knights are set to take on the No. 7 Catholic tomorrow at 1:15 p.m. at PEOPLEsBANK Park in York, Pa.
